Camp Victor and the Gulf Coast Report
LDR needs people who are willing to do any kind of job, from construction to painting to cleaning.
Camp Victor is only one of the many Lutheran volunteer centers on the Gulf Coast, housing up to 200 volunteers a week.
There is still so much work to be done...
Camp Victor is ready and willing to take any and all volunteers, regardless of skill. One or two skilled laborers per group is helpful. Volunteers are always needs out in the community as well in helping to run Camp Victor in the form of cooks.
Different projects require different equipment and material, and at this point in the disaster clean-up, gift cards are the most needed building material. Lowes and Home Depot Gift Cards allow groups to buy exactly what they need while they are working.
Any amount of time you can give is a blessing. Many groups from New Jersey stay for a week at at time, and you can sign up to stay at Camp Victor longer.
If you or your congregation is interested in forming a work team, please contact Lee Zandstra, Lutheran Disaster Response Coordinator for New Jersey. Lee will be pleased to help prepare your group to serve our neighbors in the South!
