about living at Crane's Mill

Bernadette “Bernie” Farley, Crane’s Mill resident since 2006

Crane’s Mill is always kept in impeccable condition. The location is so convenient. There are multiple shopping opportunities close by. I still go to my church and attend meetings there. I’m close to my doctors, but I like knowing medical help is onsite if I need it. There’s also the community bus, which is available for frequent trips.

“Up to now we toiled, but now we’re spoiled.” Everything is right here—you don’t have to wait until you need it. It’s a great place to live.

My wife and I are the happiest we’ve ever been, and are grateful we are here. Crane’s Mill is a melting pot with a rich background of folks here: diversity, travels, grandchildren, etc. I visited larger facilities, but they lacked a feeling of “community” and the ability of seeing familiar faces. We have a great quality of food, better than many others. I enjoy the outdoors— birds, wildflowers, trails, etc.—and there are hundreds of acres in West Essex Park just out the back door. We have a fantastic executive director and staff, who have great listening skills and two-way communication.

People here are great, and the serving staff at the Grille and in the dining area are very respectful and hard working. I enjoy the beautiful grounds, activities, pool, exercise room & classes. There’s peace of mind knowing I can move from Independent Living to Assisted Living to the Oaks Health Center—a place to go if you need it. This is the best move I made since my husband passed.
