Ways of Giving

Gifts to Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey help ensure the organization’s ministry of Hospitality, Healing and Hope far into the future while often providing income and tax benefits to you. Each gift is sincerely appreciated and helps us to continue reaching out to those in New Jersey in need of care and support.

Outright Gifts

Gifts by cash, check or credit card are the easiest and most direct way to benefit LSM/NJ and are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Gifts may be designated to a specific program or LSM/NJ general fund. Many contributors participate in the LSM/NJ annual appeals with outright gifts.

Charitable Bequests

Bequests are the simplest way to make a planned gift to Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey. There are many ways to include a bequest in your will to LSM/NJ. These include:

• Bequeathing a specific dollar amount or percentage of your estate.
• Indicating which assets (such as stock, real estate, etc.) will be gifted.
• Designating that the “remainder” of your estate (after expenses, bequests to family members, etc.) will go to LSM/NJ.

Endowed Fund
Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey’s new major-gift program lets you create an endowed fund to support any of our various program of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey of your choosing. Learn more about establishing an Endowed Fund.

Honor & Memorial Gifts

You can honor or remember a loved one by making a tribute gift in their name and designating the gift to a specific LSM/NJ program. If you are looking for a way to celebrate or acknowledge a special occasion or event – a birth or birthday, anniversary or other celebration, you can make a donation in their name. Perhaps you would like to honor an employee or program.

Throughout our various properties and facilities, many naming opportunities exist to satisfy a wide range of donor interests for gifts both large and small.

Matching Gifts Programs

This is a great way to double your gift. Many corporations offer a Matching Gifts Program to current and retired employees. For more information or to obtain the proper forms, contact your organization’s Human Resources or Community Involvement Department.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans’ Giving Plus® Program

A gift to LSM/NJ can accomplish even more. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans offers a benefit that enhances the charitable giving of its members. New Jersey Employees Charitable Campaign
