Director:

maryann_sagerMaryAnn Sager, has worked in the adoption field for over 20 years. She is currently Director of Adoption Options, a program of Lutheran Social Ministries of NJ (LSM/NJ). MaryAnn began working for LSM/NJ as a contract worker in 1988, doing birth mother counseling and preparing homestudy reports. For 16 years, she worked for Holt International, where she facilitated close to 200 adoptions from 10 different countries. She has traveled to Korea to escort children to the US to their adoptive families. Prior to her work in adoptions, MaryAnn worked as a therapist at a Women’s Health Center and as a probation officer in Middlesex County. MaryAnn obtained her Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University in 1981.

Social Worker:

kerrymurphyKerry Murphy, MSW, LSW, heads our Waiting Child Program. In 1997, she graduated from Montclair University with a BA in Psychology. Kerry is a licensed social worker who obtained her Masters in Social Work from Rutgers School of Social Work in 2000. She has worked in the field of adoption for over 3 years providing services to adoptive families, counseling birth parents and conducting parent training classes. In the past, she has also worked as a school social worker providing counseling for children and their families.
