Community Partnering

Joining together to reach those in need across the state.

The underlying conviction of all Community Partnering activities is that God calls us to actively serve our neighbor. To that end, we are grounded in the following principles:

We believe that Christ teaches us to love and serve our neighbors.
We believe that congregations have strengths & resources.
We believe that everyone can benefit from support.
We believe that everyone has strengths that can be built upon.
We believe that everyone’s heritage & culture should be recognized & affirmed.
We believe that relationships between congregations and the community are best served when built upon mutual respect.
We believe that programs should focus on empowerment & self-determination to respond to community needs.

What is Community Partnering?

A congregationally-based neighborhood support ministry that provides a dynamic link between Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey and area congregations.

Through its Community Partnering Program, LSM/NJ assists congregations in developing community outreach programs; training congregational teams in the development of relationships and partnerships with people and organizations in the neighborhood; and providing a network for sharing information and resources with one another and further opportunities for learning.
