Independent Living Rates
Since its opening in 1997, Crane’s Mill has experienced long-term financial stability. We proudly offer one of the area’s finest campuses for retirement living and our commitment to providing the highest quality of senior care is well known and respected.
With that in mind, Crane’s Mill has designed a rate card that is competitively priced alongside other continuing care retirement communities in the northern part of the state. An apartment or cottage in Independent Living is NOT a real estate purchase. There is a one time entrance fee payable upon move-in. There are two types of contracts with several plans under each contract type. Additionally, there is a Monthly Service Fee. All fees are based on unit size and number of occupants
You pay a one-time entrance fee and monthly service fee to enjoy Crane’s Mill’s lifestyle benefits. Crane’s Mill offers three accommodating plans:
DECLINING REFUND PLAN
Each month after move-in, Crane’s Mill earns 2% until the entire entrance fee is earned. A partial refund will be provided to the RESIDENT upon termination of the Agreement with the first fifty (50) months of occupancy.
THE 50 PERCENT REFUNDABLE PLAN
Each month after move-in, Crane’s Mill earns 2% until 50% of the entrance fee remains and that portion is refundable.
THE 90 PERCENT REFUNDABLE PLAN
Crane’s Mill earns 10% of the entrance fee on the day of move-in. No interest is earned, but 90% of initial entrance fee is guaranteed.
*Note: If unit is occupied by two people, the Second Person Entrance Fee is non-refundable under all options.

Residents can choose from two healthcare service contract options – Type A or Type B. Should you need assisted living or skilled nursing services, either short-term or long-term, the cost of such care in the Assisted Living and/or the Skilled Nursing Unit is based on the contract option you choose. CONTRACT TYPE A – LIFECARE OPTION
A traditional, all-inclusive agreement which allows the Resident use of the inpatient healthcare services in either Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing Care for a predetermined fee set by the agreement. Type A pricing is higher than Type B pricing. For more information about Type A contracts, please call the Marketing Department at 973.276.3035.
CONTRACT TYPE B – FEE FOR SERVICE OPTION
A modified agreement entitles the Resident access to healthcare services in Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing just as the Type A contract. However, there is a lifetime maximum of 60 Care Days to be utilized at the then current Monthly Service Fee.
The monthly service fee is assessed based on amenities programs and services and are intended to meet the costs of operating and managing Crane’s Mill.
Assisted Living Rates
Our Core Program of care includes up to one hour of individual care per day. For residents requiring extra assistance, our Supportive Services Program includes up to two hours of individual care per day. The Enhanced Services Program provides up to three hours of care per day and is well suited for residents who require hands-on assistance, as well as those with advanced physical needs.

Enhanced Services $238.00/day
1 ½ month’s security deposit (maintained in an interest-bearing account) is required upon admission. Services are billed monthly, based on the daily fee schedule. Additional charges at all levels include such items as personal care products, medications, newspaper delivery, premium cable TV, telephone service plus long distance calls, specialized grooming at the beauty salon or barber shop, meal charges for guests and transportation.
Skilled Nursing Rates
The Health Center at Crane’s Mill offers skilled nursing care and rehabilitative services to those who need 24-hour long-term and short-term care. Specific services for each resident are based on individual needs. A plan of care is developed by an interdisciplinary team, with input from the resident, his/her physician, and family.
For residents in our Skilled Nursing Unit whose services are being covered by Medicare, there is no initial entrance fee. Once the designated Medicare stay expires, payment of one month’s service fee and 1 ½ month’s security deposit (maintained in an interest-bearing account) will be required.
