260 Snack Bags Donated Through “Gods Work, Our Hands” Day
Calvary Lutheran Church in Cranford, NJ joined together collecting and assembling 260 snack bags for New Visions Homeless Day Shelter patrons.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) organizes a nationwide service day, “Gods Work, Our Hands,” this year falling on Sunday, September 7th. The group of 60 volunteers decided to donate the snack bags to New Visions. Lisa Barnes, director of community engagement for LSMNJ suggested the idea of snack bags so patrons had something to take with them once the shelter closes.
Water bottles, juice boxes, fruit cups, chips and granola bars as well as spoons and plastic bags were collected and then assembled in just a half hour! There were extra snacks collected that will also be sent to the shelter. Thank you to Calvary Lutheran Church!
