Arthur J. Gallagher Benefits Volunteers “Stamp Out Hunger” at LSM of Camden
The Mid-Atlantic team of Arthur J. Gallagher Benefits teamed up with Lutheran Social Ministries of Camden’s (LSM of Camden) Summer Garden Camp to “Stamp out Hunger.” Over 15 volunteers came out Thursday, July 24 to help camper’s plant garden boxes to take home and hand out to residents of LSM of Camden. Along with the garden boxes, Gallagher volunteers came with over 50 filled grocery bags, donated by employees of Gallagher Benefits.
Volunteers and campers quickly bonded over planting a variety of flowers, cherry tomatoes, peppers, parsley, oregano, and more. Once they were done with their planter boxes, the campers proudly showed off the garden they have been working on and picked fresh vegetables.
Beth Gebhart, executive director of Fund Development and the Foundation joined in the fun. “The interaction between the kids and the Gallagher volunteers was wonderful. You could tell the kids had a blast, I can’t wait for another visit from Gallagher.”
The Camden Garden Camp runs from July 7 to August 14 and is offered free of charge to children of LSM of Camden. There are 15 youth participating this year, ranging in age from 5 to 14 years old.
