Beth Sparling Advances to Executive Director Role at Crane’s Mill
Beth Sparling has been appointed Executive Director of Crane’s Mill, a continuing care retirement community in West Caldwell, NJ and part of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey. Following an 11 year tenure as Health Services Administrator at Crane’s Mill, she is now responsible for all aspects of the 48 acre facility which encompasses 281 independent living apartments/cottages, a wellness program, 48 assisted living apartments, 18 dedicated assisted living apartments providing Alzheimer’s and dementia care, as well as a 66 unit sub-acute rehabilitation and long term care nursing center.
A certified dementia care practitioner, Beth led the development and programming of the memory support unit in the Crane’s Mill Health Center. Other professional credentials include certified social worker and licensed nursing home administrator. She earned a degree from Elon University (Elon , NC) in human services with a concentration in gerontology.
When asked about career path Beth explains, “ I came to appreciate and value the special gifts and needs of seniors when my grandparents lived with my family for 17 years. I also grew up doing a lot of volunteer and service work through my church and other community outreach … so this career was a natural choice for me.” When she’s not at Crane’s Mill you can often find Beth outdoors where she most enjoys camping, hiking and snow skiing.
