Boy Scout Troop 129 donated their time enhancing the entrance landscaping of Birchwood at Old Bridge Senior Residence this past Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13. Boy Scout Karan Desai, project manager, graciously chose to work with Birchwood at Old Bridge for his service project to earn his Eagle Scout award after his Scout Master, Michael Verdesco identified the property as a possible project site.

Karan and 10-20 of his fellow Boy Scouts spent the weekend building a backdrop fence and planting shrubs, flowers, and planter boxes to beautify a new, recently installed sign identifying the property.

Anthony Coniglio, senior director of housing at LSMNJ, said, “The area surrounding the new sign was in dire need of enhancement. The Boy Scout’s landscaping plan, choice of plants, and donation of many hours of labor made this entrance a point of pride for our seniors who call Birchwood at Old Bridge their home. We are especially grateful.”
