Carl Tarbell Appointed as VP/ED at Lutheran Crossings

Carl Tarbell has been named as the new vice president and executive director for Lutheran Crossings Enhanced Living (LCEL) at Moorestown. Announcing his appointment, Elizabeth Sparling chief operating officer of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey (LSMNJ) the parent organization of LCEL, noted, “We are fortunate to welcome an experienced professional such as Carl into the leadership position at Lutheran Crossings. In addition to his experience and success as an administrator in senior living and healthcare, as a long-time resident of Haddonfield, NJ, Carl brings a personal appreciation for the greater Moorestown area and its rich heritage. One of his first priorities is to get to know the people and engage LCEL within the community.”

For more than 30 years, Carl gained experience and enjoyed increasing levels of responsibility working for various senior living, healthcare,and/or special needs organizations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. His most recent position was with the Quadrangle, a Sunrise Senior Living property, where he served as the executive director. Among other positions, he previously served as the administrator/chief operating officer for Caring Heart Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (Philadelphia), executive director/general manager for The Watermark at Logan Square, and vice president/chief operating officer Post-Acute/Senior Services at Virtua Health.

After graduating with a BA in economics and business administration from McDaniel College (western Maryland College), Carl later earned an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Eastern University. He is a licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and has served as a board member for the Delaware Valley Alzheimer’s Association.

After guiding Lutheran Crossings for the past two years as vice president and executive director, Sherry Outten is embarking on a new role within LSMNJ as vice president of administration. Both Sherry and Carl are actively working in their respective roles and look forward to taking on new challenges.
