Crane’s Mill Residents Participate in Helping Those in Need

Each year, Crane’s Mill hosts the Bountiful Harvest Food Drive to benefit the New Visions Day Shelter in Camden, New Jersey. In 2013, the drive ran from mid-September through October 4th. Donations included an array of pantry and non-perishable food items as well as cash offerings. In total, 2013 saw a record number of donations from residents, staff, and members of the greater community.

Ann Chieppa, a Crane’s Mill independent living resident and head of the community’s dining committee, was on-hand to present the donations to Phil Harrington, the new Interim President & CEO for Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey.

Crane’s Mill staff members then joined Phil in loading a van with the generous donations for the voyage south from West Caldwell to Camden, all with hearty smiles on their faces knowing the food would go to help those in need.
