Hearts of Hope 2015

LSMNJ - Hearts of Hope 2015

A cold nip in the air could not deter warm hearts inside the Candleberry dining room Thursday night (February 12) at Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell. Nearly 135 people had a wonderful time at the Hearts of Hope event organized by Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey (LSMNJ). The evening raised over $50,000 for three programs of this mission-driven non-profit. New Visions Homeless Day Shelter in Camden, the Good Samaritan Fund, and the Lutheran Feeding Friends ministries all benefited from the night’s proceeds.

Guests played a variety of casino games all in the name of a good cause. The favorite of the night seemed to be roulette where winning numbers keep guests happy. Morrison Senior Dining provided an impressive assortment of food. The seafood table and signature drink each surrounded by an ice sculpture added to the festive atmosphere of the night. The host sponsor for the event, Angelo Del Russo of Del-Sano Contracting, commented, “We are gratified for all the diligence and monumental team effort LSMNJ has put forth to make Hearts of Hope a grand success.” “If not for LSMNJ foundation board members like Angelo and others, the everyday shelter and comfort we offer through LSMNJ’s diverse programs and services would not be possible” added Beth Gebhart. Calling Hearts of Hope an all-around success, she noted, “The event was a real team effort–from members of the board to the folks serving dinner–and everyone had a great time.” continued Beth Gebhart.
