LIFE Welcomes New Medical Director
Lutheran Senior LIFE at Jersey City is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Medical Director, Ahmad Farooq, MD, MSHS, CMD. Dr. Farooq brings more than a decade of direct patient care experience in multiple care settings to Lutheran Senior LIFE.
Dr. Farooq will provide direction and supervision of all clinical aspects of care provided to LIFE participants. He will lead the team in the quality assessment and effectiveness of service delivery to ensure LIFE participants are receiving the best possible care and benefiting from the program. As a member of the primary care team, Dr. Farooq will also provide direct patient care.

I’m confident that, with Dr. Farooq’s leadership as medical director, we can achieve our goal of further enhancing the quality of care and services we provide.”
Dr. Farooq is a triple boards certified and Master’s prepared physician who is a Certified Medical Director from the American Medical Director’s Association. Most recently Dr. Farooq worked as a house call physician and prior to that as the Geriatrician and Hospice Medical Director at Virtua Medical Group in Southern NJ. He also served in leadership positions in various veterans affairs medical centers. Dr. Farooq is a member of American College of Physicians, American Geriatrics Society, American Medical Directors’ Association, American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. With experience in long and short-term, as well as home and community based care, Dr. Farooq is well positioned to oversee LIFE’s clinical services.
