Lutheran Senior LIFE PACE participants receive COVID-19 vaccine

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lutheran Senior LIFE PACE program in Jersey City has been bringing healthcare, social services and wellness directly to its senior participants in their homes. Traditionally providing the majority of health and social services in its Jersey City Center at 377 Jersey Avenue, the program shifted to nearly 100% home-based care when social distancing and contact protocol measures were implemented to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Participants in Hudson County have been thriving in the LIFE PACE program. They receive daily wellness calls and psychosocial support, routine home visits from nurses, nurse practitioners, occupational and physical therapists, and telehealth visits, when needed. Their meals and prescriptions are delivered directly to their homes. They receive virtual recreation activities to stay engaged and virtual and in-person visits from the program’s chaplain. And now, they are receiving their COVID-19 vaccinations.

Over 54% of the program’s participants were vaccinated last month, and additional participants received their first dose this week.
