New Leadership Appointed at Lutheran Senior LIFE at Jersey City

Lutheran Senior LIFE at Jersey City, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) that delivers healthcare services to Hudson County seniors with chronic care needs, is pleased to announce the appointment of two key members to its leadership team. Ritu Suri, MD, CMD, has been appointed as medical director and Christine Lesicko, RN, BSN, MBA, has been named vice president and executive director. Both professionals have extensive experience and knowledge serving the healthcare needs of seniors. 

“We are very excited to welcome these two highly respected healthcare professionals to the staff at Lutheran Senior LIFE,” explains Beth Sparling, chief operating officer of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, a non-profit, social service organization that oversees the Lutheran Senior LIFE at Jersey City program. “Both women bring to our program an energetic spirit filled with devotion and compassion to serve the area’s disadvantaged and underserved senior population. We expect and anticipate the New Year to be one of great accomplishments at Lutheran Senior LIFE, and one that profoundly impacts the overall health of our senior population in Hudson County.”

Ritu Suri, MD, CMD, is board certified in family medicine, geriatric medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine. She specializes in primary care and geriatrics. Dr. Suri received her medical degree from Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi, India. She completed her internship at Mount Sinai Elmhurst Hospital and Medical Center in Elmhurst, NY, and her residency in Family Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. Dr. Suri also completed her fellowship training in geriatrics at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY.

As medical director, Dr. Suri will provide direction and supervision of all clinical aspects of care provided to Lutheran Senior LIFE participants. She will lead the interdisciplinary care team and oversee the effectiveness of service delivery to ensure participants are receiving the highest quality of care and are thriving in the program. 

Christine Lesicko has a rich background in senior healthcare. Prior to coming to Lutheran Senior LIFE, Ms. Lesicko was vice president of health services at Affinity Health Plan in Bronx, New York. She has also served as the regional director of care coordination at Visiting Nurse Service of NY and as director of integrated services at The Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services in New York, NY. Ms. Lesicko brings with her a wealth of knowledge as a strategic health care and medical management leader. She has an exceptional talent for creating innovative solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance with Medicare/Medicaid, and leading diverse interdisciplinary teams to produce highly efficient solutions, as well as delivery of quality care and measurable outcomes.

Ms. Lesicko is a graduate of Lebow College, Drexel University in Philadelphia with a Masters of Business Administration, and Immaculata University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She also received her Associated Degree in Nursing from Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Lutheran Senior LIFE provides management of individualized health needs and personal care services for seniors, enabling them to remain independent and living in their homes and communities. In addition, the program provides consistent social interactivity, outpatient services, home health and home care services, as well as well-balanced meals and family/caregiver support services. Participants must be 55 years of age or older and live in select zip codes within Hudson County. They must be certified by the state at a nursing home level of care and able to live safely at home at the time of enrollment.
