Our purpose is to help those who need us most
Throughout New Jersey, there are people who really need help and there are people who really have a need to help. We realized a long time ago that our role—and the best way to fulfill our purpose—was to help bring all these people together.
Built on more than a century of grace-filled service, Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey (LSMNJ) continues its mission as a not-for-profit organization to serve residents statewide who hurt, who are in need, or who have limited choices–regardless of religious background or affiliation.

Our History
To meet changing needs, Evangelical Lutheran Association for Work of Christian Charity and Benevolence in the State of New Jersey, formed in the early 1900s, evolved to become today's Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey.
