Dementia poses many challenges within the family dynamic. Not only do you feel that Mom or Dad cannot safely care for themselves, you may feel something is lost in your connection to a loved one. This does not get easier as we enter the holiday season.
Colleen Kerstetter, ST, is a speech therapist for Bayada Home Health Care. She specializes in Cognitive Rehabilitation, and started initiative in memory programming for senior living residents with Dementia. Colleen utilizes her skills of exceptional care to deliver a meaningful service to her clients. She is led by her heart, and believes that everyone deserves a chance for improvement.
In Coping with Dementia, Colleen will demonstrate empathy for family members and encourage them to utilize her tips for communication and interaction. While accepting that cognitive decline is present, attendees will walk away empowered to strengthen their connection to their loved one.
